New penalties required for home gun accidents I have read too many times about young children picking up a gun and pulling the trigger sometimes with tragic results. I realize how devastating this can be for family members particularly when a death occurs but never the less I believe legislation should be enacted to hold the gun permit owner responsible by charging that owner with manslaughter. This added knowledge just might encourage owners to be more diligent in securing their weapons in the home. Jack B. Walters January 5, 2014
